Sean’s experience spans from working in Government as a political advisor and strategic consultant. Having established Bastion S&GO four years ago with the goal of creating a more strategy focused government consultancy service. As a political advisor, Sean worked for a range of Minister’s during the Rudd/Gillard governments, including the current Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten. Sean was responsible for liaising with the Senate cross bench and building productive relationships with the Greens, independents and minor parties.
MANAGER, CLIENT STRATEGY
Sharaf is an experienced government relations consultant, having worked in the development and implementation of public policy campaigns across a range of industries including transport, infrastructure, property, tourism and racing. A lawyer by training, Sharaf was previously a key member of KPMG’s national government relations practice. Sharaf assists his clients engage with government of all levels on complex and high profile policy issues as well as providing strategic advice on how to achieve their community and stakeholder engagement objectives.
Matt has more than three years experience working in government relations and community engagement. He prides himself on building strong relationships with his clients to better understand their objectives, preferences and constraints - this is what allows him to service his clients effectively. His work at Bastion has been wide ranging; from government relations advice for clients in the logistics, racing, sports, property, transport and finance industries, through to community engagement strategy and implementation in the government and energy sectors.
Juliet graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2012 with a Bachelor of Environment, majoring in Geographies, Politics and Cultures. She helped to start up a nature science based not-for-profit, Wild Melbourne, where she was the Community Outreach Manager and pursued her interests in natural and social sciences, and community engagement. She has also held various roles in consulting and environmental related work such as conservation and land management, geotechnical engineering and environmental auditing. She has been passionate about community and stakeholder engagement throughout her career which is why she is now working with Bastion Engage.
Claudine is a recent graduate from RMIT University where she completed a Master of Communications, majoring in Community Engagement Theory. She has worked in various community focussed roles, and this has complemented her work. Claudine has a passion for community engagement and her work at Bastion has allowed these skills to grow. She particularly loves strengthening people's feelings of community and relationships.
